Samuel Harrington, MD, was born and raised in the Midwest, educated in the East at Harvard College, and earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin. He has served in many capacities as a doctor, among them on the staff and the Board at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. After 31 years in a busy Gastroenterology practice based in D.C., Dr. Harrington has left that career to pursue other interests, including writing and health care reform. He is working on a book, Towards a Peaceful Death After a Long Life.
He and his wife, Debbie Weil, have been chronicling travel and re-invention in their blog: Gap Year After 60.
